The Queensland Government Business Boost Grants are back, with Queensland businesses able to register their interest from 9am , 12th August to 11.59pm, 19th August.

These grants are a great opportunity for businesses who have been looking to advance efficiency and productivity but never really had the spare funds to do so.

What Projects can Be Boosted?

Support for this round of Business Boost Grants includes activities in three project areas:

  • Future planning
  • Specialised and Automated Software
  • Staff Management, Development and Planning

In past years, recipients of the grant have used the funding to introduce or upgrade online booking systems, redevelop websites, develop workplace health and safety systems that are customised to their business or offer additional staff training.

Available Funding

Approved applicants can receive a grant payment of $15,000 (excluding GST) on completion of proposed project. Successful applicants are required to co-contribute at least 30% of the total project costs.

It is important to note that the funding is paid after completion of the project and only after the required acquittal documentation is received.
Projects must have a minimum funding of $10,715 (excluding GST), while payments for projects made prior to the approval date will not be paid (you must be approved for the grant before you pay for your submitted project).

Eligibility Criteria

As with any Government funding, there is some strict eligibility criteria for businesses to meet to be able to apply for the grant. You can find the full eligibility criteria on the Queensland Government Business website; however, we have outlined the main points below:

  • Fewer than 20 employees at time of applying
  • Have an active ABN and be registered for GST
  • Have a Queensland headquarters and maintain that during the grant funded activity
  • Have a turnover between $300,000 and $600,000 in the last financial year (FY21-22)
  • Having a public web presence that identifies business operations (website and/or social media)

You also cannot have been approved for funding under Round 1 of the Business Boost grant program and you cannot be insolvent or have owners or directors that are undischarged bankrupt.

At Your Easy Web Solutions, we’ve helped numerous clients with their funding projects, and from experience with these business grants, they are in high demand, so we certainly recommend that you register your interest early.

With the Business Boost Grants, valid registrations of interest will be assessed through a ballot process with only a fraction of applications selected to move onto Stage 2. If you are successful, you will be invited to submit a full application.

If you’re interested in applying for a Business Boost Grant through the Queensland Government, at Your Easy Web Solutions, we can assist with firstly ensuring you have a website that makes you eligible for the grant, but particularly with designing and building websites with integrated e-commerce, software integration or booking systems.
