Boost Your Business into the New Financial Year with the Business Boost Grant

Are you ready to boost your business?

The Queensland Government recently announced the Business Boost Grant, providing support to businesses to help make improvements in their efficiency and productivity.

This is a great way to get those projects underway that you’ve been planning but never really had the spare funding to do. As part of the grant, the government will co-fund projects with business owners up to a maximum of $15,000. Business owners do need to contribute 30% of the project cost and projects need to cost no less than $10,715 (excluding GST).

What Projects Can Be Boosted?

The Business Boost Grant is really focused on supporting businesses with projects that make them more efficient and increase productivity. Eligible project activities come under three different areas:

  • Future planning
  • Specialised and Automated Software
  • Staff Management, Development and Planning

Within these areas, you can use the grants for strategic business planning for growth, export opportunities, implementing management systems, complex website design and build, cybersecurity, professional development and training, and so much more.

Eligibility Criteria

Of course, there is a fairly defined set of eligibility criteria for businesses to meet to be able to apply for the grant. You can find the full eligibility criteria on the Queensland Government Business website; however, we have outlined the main points below:

  • Fewer than 20 employees at the time of applying
  • Have an active ABN and be registered for GST
  • Have a Queensland headquarters
  • Have a turnover between $300,000 and $600,000 in the last financial year (FY20-21)
  • Having a web presence that identifies business operations (website and/or social media)

Grant applications open July 30, and from experience with previous business grants, and they are usually in high demand, so we certainly recommend that you have everything you need ready to submit. Applications for this grant are competitively assessed so there isn’t a set number of applications the government will take, rather the grant is closed off when enough applications are received to be able to be competitively assessed.

At Your Easy Web Solutions, we can assist with firstly ensuring you have a website that makes you eligible for the grant, but particularly within designing and building websites with integrated e-commerce, software integration or booking systems.

So many businesses managed to stay afloat through 2020, and of course earlier this year, by having a fully functional website where they could sell their products and services. The Business Boost Grant is a great opportunity for business owners to really get procedures and processes into place that make your business more efficient, more productive, and hopefully more profitable – because really, that’s our overall aim when in business right?

We know there isn’t a lot of time left, but don’t leave it until the last minute. If you fit the criteria and you have a project in mind, get in contact and let’s discuss how we can help you get in the best position to receive the Business Boost Grant.
